Membership in FEMORS is limited to qualified individuals in the disaster mortuary community or others with specialized skills who have a desire to serve their community in the time of need.
FEMORS members activated for disaster response serve as temporary employees of the University of Florida, at the request of the Florida Department of Health and are compensated based upon their assigned member classification. Activation is generally limited to rotating two-week periods of work until the incident is completed (two weeks of work followed by two weeks back at normal occupation).
Check out our list of FEMORS member classifications.
